The Volunteer Services Program offers interested individuals in our community the opportunity to assist persons who are coping with the challenges of mental illness move toward recovery as well as support OceanMHS’ mission of offering a comprehensive continuum of mental health services that promotes full participation in community life.
OceanMHS proudly looks at its valuable volunteers as important team members. All volunteers are provided with training, education, supervision and recognition. We offer flexible hours, short and long term opportunities, and a supportive friendly atmosphere.
Volunteers enhance care and help to build closer ties between the community and the mental health system. In addition to providing extra "hands" and support to clients and their families, volunteers help dispel the stigma and misconceptions often surrounding mental illness.
